‘Change in the City’ started as Kirsty has always been curious about the rise in new developments in and around London. She has spent the last year photographing modern buildings, looking in particular at the in-between stage of new developments. Living in a new development herself, she had experienced the anticipation of watching and waiting for the building to be completed.
Kirsty’s vision was to present a black and white documentation focusing on a few areas in London that are currently being redeveloped. Wembley was one of the key areas of focus for this project due to its current state in redevelopment.
By showing the in-between stages of development, this body of work aims to highlight the impact that regeneration has on the community as the environment is shared by both. By producing a documentation of this, Kirsty believes this project conveys the constant change in the busy city of London.
